Today’s Song: The Misfits - Skulls
This may take that term to a much more literal stand point… I’ve been flicking through the internet recently and found something that links to two profound cultures: the worldwide couture fashion culture, and indigenous Andeans of Pre-Colombia.
It’s something quite interesting… decorating skulls. In South America they were historically significant as being ‘guardians’ of the home, watching over living loved ones and being decorated lavishly with flowers and garments. In couture, skulls are decorated richly, often draped by hand with crystals.
These decorated skulls are incredibly interesting… and I’ve been kind enough to share some of the ‘prettier’ skulls with you all. ;]
